Expedition blog

3rd of December

I have to admit that I was VERY tired when I wrote my last blog. First of all, I AM WORKING with technical devices for hard of hearing people since November 7th. I was about to write that I am not working for Sectra anymore, but something happened while I was typing this in... Sorry for the bad language - I will correct this later when the web master is back again from the United States.

Take care.

Hi Frank!

Depends on the range of your Bonanza. Do you have any ferrytanks available? If so I would consider to fly via Hawaii due to several reasons:

1)Permission and navigator. You might need a navigator depending on routing and altitude if you need to fly through russian airspace. I have some contacts that I can send you separately if you would like.

2) Costs. I would say that the total cost going through Russia would be higher.

3) Fuel. During our research prior to our flight we had big problems finding appropriate fuel if we would have used AVGAS. Do you have a turbocharger? In that case it's even more important with good fuel quality.

Of course the cons of flying through hawaii is the long water passages with a single. Make sure you have sufficient survival equipment including a high quality raft and survival suite. I also recommend the use of an HF-radio (unless the requirements has changed just recently, check it out with affected ATC's).

Regards,

Henrik

I want to fly my plane from California to Australia and wondered what route you would suggest and if there is fuel in Russia for my Bonanza?

Frank
