October 23rd: Johan Hammarström and WFH awarded with the well respected "Stockholms-Snäckan"
Sweden celebrated "hörselskadades dag" (one day every year that is dedicated for the hard of hearing people in the world) on October 21st and Johan Hammarström was invited to HRFs local event in Stockholm to give his speech about the expedition and about his background as a hearing impaired individual. After his lecture the this year's winner of the honoured award "Stockholms-snäckan" was presented. This prize is given to a person or group that has done most for the hard of hearing people in the world during the year. The jury consisted of board members from different sub organizations within Hörselskadades Riksförbund (HRF).
The motivation of the prize was:
"Johan Hammarström has together with his team helped to raise awareness and increased understanding about hearing loss and also inspired many other hard of hearing people to try to reach their goals in life. World Flight for Hearing has reached a wide scale audience, not only in Stockholm, but all over the world."
