WFH will be part of the program at grand IFHOH congress in Vancouver

Yesterday it was announced that World Flight for Hearing will be part of the program at the big international hard of hearing conference in Vancouver (Canada) next year (2008).

Johan Hammarström will be in charge of the presentation that will include several lecturers from all over the world and the topic will be "being hard of hearing in different parts of the world".

Participants in the speech will also be Ahiya Kamera (President of the hard of hearing organization in Israel - Bekol) and Duong Phuong Hanh who is a Vietnamese and working with disabilities in Ho Chi Minh City. Possible there will be another lecturer from another part of the world involved in the speech as well.

The speech will be a 90 minutes session and include a 20 minute asking session.

18 oktober - två WFH-föredrag i helgen!

Another award to WFH

WFH has receieved yet another award for being an outstanding project that has contributed to a better world for hard of hearing people. This time the award was issued by the Swedish youth organization for hard of hearing people - UH (www.uh.se).

Song video includedes WFH - one of the few videos that involves sign language!

Johan Hammarström takes part in a Swedish production of a "sign language video" to Maria Carey´s song "Hero". The video is a project driven by hard of hearing entrepreneur Matilda Bergman and is an illustration of how important other people are to "state good examples". The message is of course "you can do it" and the film shows a small boy who is dreaming about airplanes and Johan is taking him closer his dream and another scene showes a girl who is dreaming about becoming a sport star and Cecilia Ferm (basket ball proffessional) is showing her the way.

August 18th - Participation at Danish Parent organization congress

On August 18th I steered south with the Mooney Ovation (SE-GXI) to participate at a congress in Varde (Denmark, close to Esbjerg). The congress was intented for all parenets to hard of hearing children in Denmark. The audience were totally captured for more than 1 hour and 30 minutes and it was such a great bunch of people to speak to regarding the topics surrounding World Flight for Hearing.

May 5th: Participation at EFHOH congress

On May 5th I fly the airplane to Oslo to participate at the European Federation of Hard of Hearing congress. The participants got to hear my WFH presentation. It was not difficult to tell on their faces what they thought... Success again. It is the same great feeling every time. After this speach I got many questions whether I could participate in other meetings in other parts of Europe. I hope that can happen.

May 2007: WFH educates audiologists in Norway

WFH has been asked to educate audiologists at their education in Trondheim. The presentation has been held several times by Johan Hammarström and it has been very appriciated every time. The topic is "meeting with hard of hearing people" and the audiologists get to know about the life of being hard of hearing and are also told the great story of World Flight for Hearing.

April 27th - WFH presentation at SPAF (Swedish hard of hearing industry congress)

On April 27th, me and Pernilla Urbansson (hard of hearing soccer proffessional) held our second presentation together in Kalmar (South East Sweden). The big audience were amazed of our stories and we got to take another "give your dreams wings" photos before leaving the congress.

March 27th and 28th

More WFH activities! This one was very well combined with work related tasks such as a few customer meetings. HRF (hard of hearing organization) and SDRF (the deaf assosiation) had invited me to come and speak to "both groups" at two different events. My gut feeling was that it, again, was well received.
